According to the August foreign trade data announced by the State Statistical Institute, the trade volume between Macedonia and Turkey increased by 36.6% in the first eight months of the year compared to the previous year. The trade volume between January and August increased to 394.6 million Euros. Turkey has become Macedonia’s seventh largest partner in foreign trade, surpassing Italy in the eight-month period.

Macedonia’s exports to Turkey increased by 47% to 75.5 million Euros, while imports increased by 34 percent to 319.1 million Euros.

Macedonia’s total exports increased by 31.5% to 4 billion 562 million Euros, while imports increased by 34% to 6 billion 250 million Euros. While the foreign trade deficit was calculated as 1 billion 688 million Euros, the ratio of exports to imports was recorded as 73.4%.
